As I sit here anxiously awaiting dinner time, I'm asking myself, "Why on earth did I sign up for a 30-day clean eating challenge? Why am I doing this as a plant-based athlete?" I’m not unhappy with my weight. I feel great. And I’ve never loved myself more than I do now (though this doesn’t say much considering where I’m coming from-- more on this some other time).

An entire special issue was released on plant-based nutrition in the Journal of Geriatric Cardiology and features 8 articles published by a lot of our leaders in the movement! I have been inspired to review these articles as well as highlight a little bit about the authors so that you are inspired to share what you learn with others.
Being vegan is about so much more than just not eating meat or animal-based products; it’s about caring for everything around us and making even one, small decision with someone or something else in mind. It’s about embracing compassion and realizing the power each one of your decisions holds. And you don’t even have to make vegan-ish decisions all of the time; even just one a day counts and makes you a part of this wonderful movement.
