What I learned yesterday... Weekly edition: April # 2

This week, we look at everything from the HAES movement, the Naturopathic Alliance, a riveting memoir, and a question you don’t want to forget to include on your patient intake form. In personal news, I was able to enjoy my first bike ride on the waterfront in downtown Toronto and saw the most people I have seen in over a year (jogging or biking on the path).

What I learned yesterday... First weekly post!

How to Start a Professional Podcast from Scratch...

I had absolutely no idea where to start. I had no background in any type of computer or audio work, and frankly, I find even writing this blog overwhelming.

I knew I needed a computer, microphone, some editing software, some music… and a whole lotta creativity, time and understanding of the interwebs. HELLOOOOO, quarantine!!!!

As you raise your vibration and your awareness, your friends have to in order to keep up.

As I sit here anxiously awaiting dinner time, I'm asking myself, "Why on earth did I sign up for a 30-day clean eating challenge? Why am I doing this as a plant-based athlete?" I’m not unhappy with my weight. I feel great. And I’ve never loved myself more than I do now (though this doesn’t say much considering where I’m coming from-- more on this some other time).

Gift Giving Golden Rule & Gift Guide

The holidays are here and here is a quick guide I put together for some amazing health and wellness gifts sure to fit any budget.

I commonly hear clients complain how they don’t know how to give gifts to family or friends that support a healthful journey. Sometimes this is because they can’t relate to that person, or because they don’t want to buy something that supports an unhealthy habit.

“Eating a diet mostly of dark green leafy plants, fruits, beans, whole grains and fish, while limiting processed meats, saturated fats, trans fats, refined carbohydrates and foods high in added sugars is a heart-healthy lifestyle and may specifically help prevent heart failure if you don't already have it.” -Dr. Kyla Lara
